About

James S. Flynn's Biography

James Flynn (He likes to be called just Flynn) is a multidisciplined, somewhat introverted storyteller with a flair for tragicomic humour - razor-sharp, emotionally raw, and just a little bit sarcastic. After a life-altering event saw him undergo years of recovery and rehab, he turned to writing novels and songs, which has given him a deeper perspective on life and the human condition, now preferring solitude over limelight, dust over dazzle. He rarely ventures into the big smoke, dislikes travel, and shuns the mainstream media due to their lack of journalistic skills and integrity. Flynn lives with his family and animals on a secluded property somewhere in Australia, enjoys playing guitar, fishing, building things, sailing and giving life to the many characters that have roamed in and about his very creative mind for so many years. From armed emus, orphans, treasure seekers, desert wanderers and hippy adopting grandparents. His stories blend satire, grief, and hope for a better future.
He also hates having his picture taken. So here's a photo of his dog.
